Learning Bags and Library

Don't forget to bring your learning bag every day!

Children can borrow books from our class library to share at home.  They can change these books once per week, and this will be recorded in our class reading record.

We will visit the school library on Tuesdays and Fridays in groups and children can change library books to take home.

Please read with your child as often as you can.

Certificates

In Year 3, children receive at least one certificate per term for their achievements.

 What do we learn about?

Every day we learn reading, writing and mathematics skills, but we also learn about lots of other things!

Homework

From Year 1 upwards, children receive home-school learning tasks every two weeks. From Year 2 upwards, there is also online TTRS and Google Classroom homework.

Reading with your child is the most valuable way that you can support their learning - we cannot over emphasise this!

Homework Grid

Homework is set online via Google Classroom.

Phonics Links

Children who are reading 1:1 with the class teacher weekly will still be bringing home a reading diary. Please continue to use this to let the teachers know how much your child is reading at home.

Oxford owl - information about early reading and phonics, including how to pronounce each sound. Activities and suggestions on how to support reading at home.

Little Wandle phonics - follow the link to find out how to support your child's phonic reading at home. The resources on this page will help you support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos so you can see how they are taught at school and feel confident about supporting their reading at home.
