Learning bags and library
Don't forget to bring your learning bag every day. The children will be changing books regularly and this will be recorded in their home/school reading diary. Children can also borrow books from our class library to share at home. Books will be changed after the children have been heard ready in class.
Please read with your child as often as you can - it is the most helpful way to support their learning.
We have moved to the Little Wandle phonics scheme. More information about this will be passed on in detail on Monday 21st September at our reading and phonics meeting (8.50am - 9.10am in the hall).
Year 1 will do three guided reading sessions per week with school adults. The books will match their phonics level.
Certificates
In Year 1, children receive at least one certificate per term for their achievements.
Handwriting
We are using PenPals to teach handwriting please see below for formation.
